What Superfoods Actually Work?
The term superfood gets tossed around a lot, but most people don’t actually know what it means. A superfood is a food that has high nutritional value and very few calories. These foods are good for you because they are brimming with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. You are supposed to eat at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day. This can be difficult because you may not have the time or fruits and vegetables are expensive. This problem can be solved by eating superfoods or using superfoods powder. A fruit and vegetable powder is a good and easy way to get your daily intake in. If you would like to try a powder, make sure the super greens powder contains some of the foods on this list.

1. Berries
Berries are delicious and good for you. They are full of minerals, fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins. Berries have a high level of flavonoids which helps them lower your risk of having a heart attack.
The great thing about berries is that not only are they a superfood, but they are very versatile. You can put berries in your cereal, oatmeal, dessert, salads, or smoothies.
Some of the best berries to eat are acai berries, raspberries, cranberries, goji berries, and tart cherries. Tart cherries are great for your joints and help with arthritis. Cranberries can help with your kidney health.
Blueberries are high in fiber, vitamin K, and manganese, and goji berries are high in Vitamin C, E, and many flavonoids. They can help with eye, kidney, and liver health, diabetes, and blood pressure.
Acai berries are high in antioxidants and about 19 amino acids.
A fruit and vegetable powder will contain most if not all of these berries.

2. Dark Leafy Greens
This may go without saying, but you should be eating dark and leafy greens. These nutrients in these greens are folate, zinc, calcium, iron, magnesium, and fiber. They are also a good source of vitamin C. Dark leafy greens are a superfood because of all the health benefits your body receives from eating them.
Dark leafy greens can lower your risk of heart disease and diabetes. If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, your doctor will often recommend eating more vegetables, like dark leafy greens.
These greens have also shown to have high levels of carotenoids. Carotenoids help to protect you from some cancers. Some of the dark leafy greens you should eat are kale, collard greens, turnip greens, and spinach.
Most of these greens are found in a green superfood powder. You can add green superfood powder to any morning smoothie, and it's an easy way to get your daily dose of vegetables.

This compound has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been shown that curcumin can treat and stop cancer, diabetes, and heart disease from occurring.

Another great thing about avocado is that it doesn’t have a taste. It takes on the flavor of whatever you add to it. You can put avocado on toast with seasoning and a poached egg. Or add it into your cake mix in lieu of butter, shortening, eggs, and oil. It makes the cake a little more healthy and is a great vegan substitute.
